In the bustling streets of Jaipur, Rajasthan, the JCTSL air-conditioned buses are operating under precarious conditions, as their maintenance has been outsourced to contractors. These contractors charge hefty fees for maintenance services, yet the company responsible for overseeing this work has put the safety of passengers at risk due to negligence on the part of JCTSL officials.
The buses are often overloaded, carrying double the number of passengers they are designed for, yet there is little to no improvement in their maintenance. Daily, commuters face significant inconveniences due to the state of these buses.
Despite the overwhelming crowding, the buses lack basic amenities. The medical kits provided on board appear to be in poor condition, and the tangled wires inside the buses pose a serious hazard, inviting potential accidents.
